Having worked for Department of Education for over 10 years, I am skilled at working with kindergarten, childcare and school staff. I am able to work with leadership, directly with classroom staff and am able to facilitate and enhance the connection between family, early childhood and school settings.

I know staff are time poor so it is important to me that I help services identify and integrate inclusive practices that will benefit not only individuals but cohorts and groups of children. Using the unique perspective I have from working directly with both services and families, I offer practical and achievable strategies that can be used throughout everyday interactions to increase participation.
I always aim to promote and support inclusion in early childhood and school settings. I do this by working to build capacity of staff to be able to provide adjustments for tasks and the environment. I can complete observations, provide strategies and then monitor and report on progress. I am able to participate in case conferences/meetings to assist with goal setting and provide advocacy. I am experienced with providing service wide recommendations, to ensure your setting is optimised for engagement. I am experienced in and able to attend PSD and DIP meetings to help schools identify strengths, needs and adjustments for individual students. I can provide teaching teams and individuals with professional learning and information about how disability and additional needs may impact participation and engagement.
As an Occupational Therapist, I can provide services under the School Readiness Funding model. With many years of experience working as an Early Childhood Intervention Services Key Worker, I am experienced in providing support to educators that builds on existing skills and knowledge, including coaching and modelling, in order to enhance their confidence in supporting children's social and emotional self-regulation, physical development and sensory processing. HPOT can participate in case consultation, provision of group training and other discipline-specific services to enhance children's social and emotional self-regulation, physical development and sensory processing.
